Parc Howard Association Committee Meeting on Tuesday 14th March at 6pm in CCC Town Hall, Llanelli
Present: Gareth Morris (Chairperson), Rev. Eldon Phillips (Vice-Chairperson), Philip Thomas (Treasurer), Alison Jenkins, Fred Hughes, Pat Jones, Peter Jones, Suzanne Thomas, Anastasia Griffiths, David Bannister. Apologies for absence: Jane Rosser, Liz Purcell, Pam Edmunds, Margaret Gimblett, Adam Holding and Fiona Hillier. The minutes were taken by Alison Jenkins, (Assistant Secretary) in the absence of the Secretary. Minutes of the meeting held on 14th February were accepted as an accurate record.
Secretary’s report was read; The council were contacted for an an update on their plans; they advised that; An advert for interest in the catering for Mansion House weddings / conferences will be out by the end of March. Planning application for car parking will be in place by April. The space net will be moved from its current location. Nia Griffith has contacted Emlyn Dole about a public meeting. He stated that any public consultation would firstly be around any planning applications that were needed. He would be happy to arrange a meeting at that point Tree Planting Thank you to everyone involved. The day was a great success, the children were really interested and the trees were all planted. Additional thanks to David and to Liz for organizing this with Old Road School. Both the Llanelli Star and the Herald sent reporters. The Rainscape panel has not yet met, so we are still awaiting news of any possible funding. Notice boards for the Parc. No response from Gwyn Phillips as yet.
Fashion Show Tickets are starting to sell. A request was made for donations for raffle prizes, to be delivered to Susanne please. The invitations to guests have been sent. Posters are up on the Parc gates.
Easter Event; The children’s illustrator has confirmed that she will be attending. Adam and Fiona are in charge of the catering and cake decorating. We have 5 craft stalls confirmed. Everyone needed to turn up on the day, Phillip will help Margaret with the quiz. Summer Event; So far 9 craft stalls have been booked for the day. This is the maximum number that could be accommodated inside if the weather is bad. We may be able to extend this when we know what the forecast is likely to be. Agreed: that all the entertainment providers should have public liability insurance of their own and that we should request a copy of this, prior to the day, for our own records. Treasurer’s Report; Financial report was given. Phillip has asked to stand down as our treasurer due to work commitments. Anyone interested in this post to let him know. It was agreed that an amount would be put into a separate account and ring fenced for the Bandstand Restoration, leaving us with a working balance. Correspondence; None No other relevant business raised and the meeting closed at 7:15pm
