MINUTES OF THE PARC HOWARD ASSOCIATION COMMITTEE MEETINGTUESDAY, 12TH APRIL 2016 AT 6PM IN CCC TOWN HALL, LLANELLI
PRESENT: Gareth Morris (Chairperson), Jane Rosser (Secretary), Peter Chin (Treasurer), Alison Jenkins, Colin Jones, Jane Jones, Pat Morris, Eldon Phillips, Joan Smith, Philip Thomas, Susanne Thomas.
1. Apologies for absence
David Bannister and Pam Edmunds.
2. Election of a new Vice-Chairperson
There was one nomination and Colin Jones was elected unanimously.
3. Minutes of the previous meeting held on 8/3/16
Accepted as a true record.
4. Matters Arising
It was agreed that the Easter Family Day was an excellent event and Kevin and
June, (Council staff) were extremely supportive. The Committee were also grateful
to Pat Owen Jones for helping with the refreshments, at short notice. Jane Jones
and Secretary had judged the colouring competition and the Secretary had
contacted all parents to inform them that there was an Easter egg, to be collected
from the Museum, as a prize. The children’s illustrator had also awarded a special
One Committee member raised the issue of the positioning of the glass display
cases in the Mansion House and that the Council should re-consider the situation
regarding the Museum carefully, in relation to the future of the Parc.
5. Membership Matters: Associate Member Update
To date, 43 applications had been received and 53 people are now Associate
Members. This has generated £520, which includes one donation of £25.

7. Consideration of a Debit Card for the Association
The Treasurer suggested the use of a debit card. Following discussion, it was
agreed to keep the status quo with the use of a cheque book, for the time being.
8. Update on the publication of Philip Tomas’ book on Parc Howard
The book is now written. John Edwards has proof read it twice and has given the
‘thumbs up’. 500 copies in full colour will be printed, at a cost of £1524. A launch
will be planned. Philip, Eldon and Secretary to meet to discuss details.
