APOLOGIES: Chris Beer, Margaret Gimblett, Nia Griffith MP, Eldon Phillips, Kate Williams. 2. Minutes of the Committee meeting held on Wednesday, 13th January 2016 The minutes were accepted as an accurate record of the business conducted in the meeting, with one amendment made on page 1. ‘Paul Murray, should read, Mark Davies’. The minutes were signed by the Chair. 3. Matters Arising None. 4. Update on discussions with CCC A second meeting is taking place with the Leader, tomorrow. In the first meeting, on 12th January 2016, Cllr Dole suggested developing a genealogy centre in Parc Howard. He also asked for further ideas to be brought forward. The Leader’s column in the Llanelli Star, this week, will indicate that money will be spent on the Parc this year. Secretary is meeting with Jackie Dorrian from CAVS tomorrow. 5. Membership matters To date, £280 has been collected through Associate Membership. This includes 25 members and one donation. The money has been given to the Treasurer, this evening, for banking. Members agreed to co-opt Susanne Thomas onto the Committee. AGREED: Secretary to inform her. No interest, as yet, for support from local businesses in our Business Directory. 6. Reports from Officers Mostly everything already covered. The Town Council is now in discussion with CCC regarding setting up a ‘trust’ for parks and playing fields/areas in the town. The Chair thanked the Councillors for their support as Committee members. 7. Update on events a) Book and Craft Fayre, on 20/2/16 in the Mansion House. £2 for refreshments. On Friday, 19th, Pat is meeting Kevin at 11am to set up tables. This will be followed by setting up the books, between 2-4pm. Price of books will be agreed on Saturday. Please bring cakes for the fayre. AGREED: To share the cost of purchasing an urn with the ‘Friends of the Museum’. b) Easter Family event is being discussed for Easter Monday, on 28/3/16. Margaret, Alison, Jane J and Jane R have met once and are due to meet again in a few weeks’ time. c) A Noson Lawen is being held, on 22/4/16, in the Diplomat Hotel. No charge for the room. Eifion and Susanne Thomas are organising the performance. Ffwrness School choir is taking part and Denny Twp is compere. £10 per ticket. Secretary will liaise with Mrs Horan the teacher in charge of the school choir. Eifion Thomas will provide a programme for the Secretary to print. There is no cost to us to stage this. d) Plant ‘bring and buy’. A couple of nurseries are attending and Antioch will be bringing recycled furniture. 8. Correspondence None. 9. AOB a) Philip Thomas’ book on Parc Howard: nearly completed-just a little ‘fine tuning’ left to do. Two quotes received for printing. The Councillors were thanked for their support with this matter. AGREED: To accept the quote from Clive Davies and order 500 copies, when ready. Secretary to look into sponsorship for printing the book. Meeting ended at 7.00pm
