3.Matters arising from these minutes
Associate Members’ Secretary has sent a letter to John Lloyd, following his £25 donation. Secretary has organised a meeting for officers to meet Morrigan Mason on Thursday, 19th January at 11am in the Mansion House. Representatives of Carmarthen Heritage group will also attend.
4.Rainscape Community Fund: Grant Bid
Following a meeting involving the Secretary, Alison Jenkins and David and Lynn Bannister, a bid has been submitted to Dwr Cymru, for a grant of £1000 under the heading, ‘Old Road School Rainscape and Biodiversity Project’. David Bannister and Liz Purcell are liaising with the school on this. Forest Schools-Liz Purcell has received communication from Peni. A visit to the Parc during February half-term week is being planned for U-7s accompanied by adults and older children, unaccompanied. There will not be a charge but it will have to be ‘ticketed’ to control numbers. It is hoped that Gavin Evans will organise this. A risk assessment will be needed. AGREED: Secretary to contact Morrigan Mason to raise awareness of this. Easter Event -consider inviting Peni to provide an activity with trees, in the Parc. This could tie in with the Woodland Trusts ‘Branch of Tree Charter’ where the branch of a tree in the Parc can be ‘dressed’. 5. Officers’ Reports

Secretary A ‘thank you’ card has been sent to the landlords of the Colliers Arms in Furnace who donated £575 to PHA from the meat raffle held with customers, each week and to John Lloyd for his donation of £25. The next joint meeting, (6th), convened by the Leader of CCC is being held on, Friday 20/01/17 at 1.30pm in the Town Hall. AGREED: To convene an Open Meeting to feed back to the public on 28th January 2017 at 2.15pm in the Mansion House.
Treasurer Financial report tabled Need to consider using funds towards new noticeboards. David Bannister has sourced some designs on the internet. AGREED: Secretary to contact George Parker to pursue finding a local carpenter/joiner for further prices. Need to contact Paul Brookfield regarding his donation towards the ‘Bandstand Fund’. AGREED: Secretary and Liz Purcell to pursue.
Associate Members and Business Sponsors’ Secretary
An email was sent to Associate Members, at the beginning of December, with dates of events for 2017 and inviting membership renewal. Only nine replies to date, so A/M Secretary sent a reminder out yesterday.
7. Events 2016-17
Fashion Show (5/4/17): Susanne Thomas gave an update on the planning. Melanie from ‘Mossies’ will provide the clothes and the hats and fascinators will be from ‘Victoria Pearce Hats’. They will supply their own models. Aim: to have tickets and posters ready by the next committee meeting. Susanne Thomas will contact ‘women’s groups’ to publicise. Music will play, in the background and a light afternoon tea will be included in the ticket price of £15. There will be a raffle, as well. Easter event: Secretary, Margaret Gimblett, Adam Holding, Fiona Hillier , Alison Jenkins, Philip Thomas and Susanne Thomas, to be involved in the organisation. Plant Fayre: David Bannister and Alison Jenkins to organise, with other committee members. Summer event: Secretary to organise with David Bannister, Pam Edmunds, Fred Hughes, Margaret Gimblett and Susanne Thomas. Cost of craft tables agreed at £25.
A letter has been received from Cllr Bill Thomas, Town Mayor, with a donation of £25 in lieu of the craft and book fayre An email has been received from Llanelli Rural Council, on behalf of the Rural Chairperson, Cllr Stephen Donoghue, with a BACS donation of £20 in lieu of the craft and book fayre A notelet received from Mr Alun and Mrs Margaret Bowen-Thomas was read out. AGREED: Secretary to send a ‘thank you’ note. Secretary has sent a bouquet of flowers to Andrea, the accountant from Bevan, Buckland and Co. in Swansea to thank her for auditing the Association’s accounts, free of charge 8.Any other relevant business.
