Fox's Glacier Prints

Perhaps not a glacier but the pond in the park has been frozen on the run up to Christmas. An amusing site watching the ducks 'moon walking' on the ice.

Probably not so amusing for the ducks though, when a fox attempted to cross the ice to the duck island. Park Manager John pointed out the distinctive paw prints frozen fossil like in the ice.

A fox track is very dog-like, but far more compact. The print has four digits with the outer two curved towards the inner ones.

The park keepers broke the ice around the edge of the pond to stop the fox(es) attempting to cross again. And the happy ending is that there was no evidence of any feathers scattered about.
